Magic Gang at Brudenell Social Club: Review

By Gracie Moore

Brudenell was packed on December 1st, this was all thanks to the four-piece Brighton band The Magic Gang. Through out the day The Magic Gang put on their own line up of lesser known bands with their set closing the night. The social club was a mix of students, and locals which made for a great atmosphere, everyone was itching for the final act of the day's bands to come out. It was really worth the wait too. The steady flow of music from bands such as; Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard; The Ninth Wave; and Ruthie all held their own through the afternoon - it’s refreshing to see a band with more recognition giving so much time to other artists who are on their way up.

Brudenell was the perfect venue for this as indie music nights thrive in student areas; everyone is hungry for new sounds. The Magic Gang’s set was everything and more than expected, their stage presence was palpable. Their band dynamic was obviously great, they just looked like four mates from Brighton who love playing together and the crowd could definitely feel that energy. Go see The Magic Gang! Even if you don’t know their Beach Boys meets contemporary indie music you’re guaranteed a great night out.
