White light and rainbows

A poem by Sam Cooke

the moment i last saw you,

you were so gorgeous

standing there by the door

the sun created halos round you

refracted the light into little rainbows

round me

that is what you were for me

you gave me my life

cut what i had it up like,

a mother feeds her child

made it more fruitful

made it more beautiful

you’re window crystals for me

were

and now i think of you everyday

the way you made me feel

the way you touched me

“Fuck baby…

You’re surreal”

you made me into me

we don’t take down our window crystals when its raining

stained glass is pretty in the night

so why would i ever let you go
